Ignite is Launched
The Regina Adult Learning Centre Inc. today officially launched its new name and brand at a media event held at its Winnipeg Street facility.
Now known as Ignite Adult Learning Corporation, the organization's name change reflects the ambitious new direction the organization is taking to realize its vision of program and facility expansion and financial sustainability.
Hosted by Ignite Foundation chair Brian Kilback, the event was attended by a number of dignitaries and special guests. The Honourable Andrew Scheer, Speaker of the House of Commons and Regina-Qu'Appelle M.P., brought greetings from the Government of Canada. He congratulated Ignite on its rebranding and praised the organization for its long and solid history of excellent work, particularly noting the outstanding results he has witnessed over the years in the organization's young adults.
Ignite Executive Board president Fred Gill shared the organization's excitement with the name change. According to Gill, the new name "truly reflects not only our mission but the boldness of our vision for growth."
Carlo Bizzarri, Ignite Program Manager, underscored the way in which the new name defines the work of the organization and the experiences of its apprentices. He remarked, "Our program ignites what's inside the at-risk young adults who come to us for help ─ from their hopes and dreams to their potential to learn. In the process, participants in our program ignite positive relationships with their family members, friends, and employers. Essentially, our program ignites futures, creating a tremendous positive and lasting impact for marginalized young adults and for our community."
The Ignite Team and current apprentices expressed their enthusiasm for the new name. "We are really pleased with this change," explained Joan Johns, Ignite Corporate Liaison Officer. "It has stepped up our game as an organization and as a business and, while it will take time to fully complete the transition to our new name, we are eager to pursue the opportunities our new name and brand open up for us."
