Tutors

A sizeable number of young adults who apply to come to the ALC program, are often very willing to bring changes to their lives but are overwhelmed by the number of changes required to succeed. This is particularily true of behavioural modification, which requires time, repetition, and a lot of wise nurturing to bring about lasting change.

The ALC maintains that learning takes place in an individualized human context. The employee/apprentices of the ALC are from varied personal and social backgrounds. Most of the employee/apprentices are learning wounded. A tutor will often have to be patient, creative, and above all non-judgmental. At times, the employee/apprentice might want to engage in some personal conversation. It is up to the tutor to balance the necessary learning that has to take place and the need, now and then, to exchange experience and thoughts.
